Almost half of the entire population of Bangladesh are women. They are not neglected at all. But sadly most of them are illiterate.
Most men and not only men but also women feel that women's education is not that important. This is because they are not illuminated. Women's education is very essential for the welfare of a country.
However, many men are not encouraged to participate in economic activities. No nation can prosper without educating half the population of the country. Realizing the importance of education for women students, our government has taken many steps for their education.
First, the government is providing scholarships for women's education. This financial help encourages many parents to send their daughters to school.
Besides, a large number of elderly and illiterate women are taking education in night schools. Media is also playing a big role by broadcasting movies, dramas, cartoons which make people aware about women education. By doing all this one day all women will also be educated and get due respect for what they deserve.

বাংলাদেশের মোট জনসংখ্যার প্রায় অর্ধেকই নারী। তারা মোটেও অবহেলিত নয়। কিন্তু দুঃখজনকভাবে তাদের অধিকাংশই অশিক্ষিত।
বেশিরভাগ পুরুষ এবং শুধু পুরুষই নয়, নারীরাও মনে করেন যে নারী শিক্ষা তেমন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয়। এর কারণ তারা আলোকিত নয়। একটি দেশের কল্যাণের জন্য নারী শিক্ষা অত্যন্ত প্রয়োজনীয়।
তবে, অনেক পুরুষকে অর্থনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণ করতে উৎসাহিত করা হয় না। দেশের অর্ধেক জনসংখ্যাকে শিক্ষিত না করে কোনো জাতি উন্নতি করতে পারে না। নারী শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষার গুরুত্ব অনুধাবন করে আমাদের সরকার তাদের শিক্ষার জন্য অনেক পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে।
প্রথমত, সরকার নারী শিক্ষার জন্য বৃত্তি দিচ্ছে। এই আর্থিক সাহায্য অনেক অভিভাবককে তাদের মেয়েদের স্কুলে পাঠাতে উৎসাহিত করে।
এছাড়া বিপুল সংখ্যক বয়স্ক ও নিরক্ষর নারী নৈশ বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করছে। চলচ্চিত্র, নাটক, কার্টুন সম্প্রচার করে মিডিয়াও বড় ভূমিকা পালন করছে যা নারী শিক্ষা সম্পর্কে মানুষকে সচেতন করে। এই সব করার মাধ্যমে একদিন সমস্ত মহিলারাও শিক্ষিত হবে এবং তাদের প্রাপ্য সম্মান পাবে।
