Dowry System paragraph
Dowry means property or money when the bride is married to her husband.Generally in our society girl children are considered inferior to male children. They are considered to be of no use to the family.
So during the marriage ceremony a section of greedy people demand a lot of wealth or money from the bride's guardians. Poor and uneducated girls are mainly victims of dowry. When the guardians fail to meet the demands of their husbands, they mistreat their wives and sometimes severely torture them.
As a result, many of them get divorced or commit suicide or are killed by their husbands. This system has affected our entire society. Nowadays a father cannot think of a daughter's marriage without giving a dowry to the groom. I am dead against this evil system of society. This practice must be removed from the society immediately.
This social curse can be removed by changing the attitudes of the society especially male members and taking strict legal action against dowry takers.

যৌতুক মানে সম্পত্তি বা টাকা যখন কনে তার স্বামীর সাথে বিবাহ বন্ধনে আবদ্ধ হয়। সাধারণত আমাদের সমাজে মেয়ে শিশুদের পুরুষ সন্তানদের থেকে নিকৃষ্ট মনে করা হয়। তারা পরিবারের জন্য কোন কাজে লাগে না।
তাই বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানের সময় লোভীদের একটি অংশ কনের অভিভাবকদের কাছে প্রচুর সম্পদ বা অর্থ দাবি করে। দরিদ্র ও অশিক্ষিত মেয়েরা মূলত যৌতুকের শিকার হয়। অভিভাবকরা যখন তাদের স্বামীদের দাবি পূরণ করতে ব্যর্থ হয়, তখন তারা তাদের স্ত্রীদের সাথে দুর্ব্যবহার করে এবং কখনও কখনও তাদের উপর মারাত্মক নির্যাতন করে।
ফলে তাদের অনেকেই ডিভোর্স হয়ে যায় বা আত্মহত্যা করে বা স্বামীর হাতে খুন হয়। এই সিস্টেম আমাদের সমগ্র সমাজকে প্রভাবিত করেছে। আজকাল একজন বাবা বরকে যৌতুক না দিয়ে মেয়ের বিয়ের কথা ভাবতে পারেন না। সমাজের এই দুষ্ট ব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে আমি মৃত। অবিলম্বে সমাজ থেকে এই প্রথা দূর করতে হবে।
সমাজের বিশেষ করে পুরুষ সদস্যদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির পরিবর্তন এবং যৌতুক গ্রহণকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের মাধ্যমে এই সামাজিক অভিশাপ দূর করা যেতে পারে।
